Welcome to KG Bees

It all started with one hive. From this we produced a fantastic local honey and it became "Medford Gold". Since then we have added three more hives, and hope to become a popular beekeeping family business in the south/central NJ region. We now have four hives, new bees, and the flowers are blooming. 2011 was a good year for local honey.we expect that 2012 will be a GREAT year for local honey! Please inquire about this season's local honey supply by visiting our "Contact Us" page. Bees need a variety of trees, especially hardwood trees, which bloom at different times. Bees are aslo subject to various diseases and have had their numbers drastically reduced by Colony Collapse Disease. We want to promote the importance of the role of the honeybee and preservation of this amazing creature.

Our founder, Nick takes a demonstration hive to pre-schools and elementary schools in the southern and central regions of New Jersey to educate young children about the importance of bees and how to be their advocates. There is no charge for this and you can e-mail a request to us. The best times are mid -April through June and September.

Apple Honey

If you like the wonderful flavor of apples, you will love our apple honey It is reminiscent of the flavor of apple cider and can be used in your favorite cake or cookie recipe. Also try it in frostings, ice cream and what a great way to marinade a pork roast. Brew with your favorite hot tea and then refrigerate for a wonderful apple flavored ice tea!

Cinnamon Honey

Raspberry Blossom Honey

This honey was made by the bees from nectar of the raspberry blossom which blooms in Oregon State. The white blooms of the raspberry vines open up wide allowing the honeybees full access to every drop of nectar the plants produce. You can almost taste the raspberries in this delicious raspberry honey! This honey would be great drizzled over chocolate. It is light in color with a delicate berry flavor.

Lavender Honey

Lavender Honey lends a fragrant soft floral note to many dishes. It can be used in ice cream, salad dressings, baked goods, whipped cream, ice tea and lemonade. It is also excellent in marinades, glazes and barbeque sauce. Drizzle it over baked fruit and enjoy it on toast! The lavender provides a subtle, delicate herbal flavor that is floral and earthy, not overpowering.
